Trivia

    Album

  • This film was completed in the 1980s but its release was delayed by many years. It was the last released film of actor Utpal Dutt, who passed away in 1993. It was also Salil Chowdhury's last film as music director.
  • This film was adapted from the play "She Stoops To Conquer" by the Irish writer Oliver Goldsmith.

    Song

  • Jhir Jhir Barse Aaj Gagan Se - Salil Chowdhury had used the tune of the song in two other songs before this - the Bengali non-film song "O Phooler Daal" (1977) and the Malayalam film song "Ee Malarkanyakal" ("Madanolsavam", 1977). The Malayalam song was dubbed in Tamil as "Thenmalar Kannikal" ("Paruvamazhai", 1978), in Telugu as "Ne Priyuraliki" ("Amara Prema", 1978), and in Hindi as "Aye Mere Dil Ga" ("Dil Ka Sathi Dil", 1982).[1][2][3][4]
