Album

• This was Aditya Chopra's second film but it was his first film script. He had chosen to write a different script for his debut film "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" (1995) because he had felt that he did not have the maturity to direct this film at the time.[1][2]
• Singers Shweta Pandita, Ishaan and Udbhav debuted in this Hindi film.
• This was the first Hindi film featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan together.
• This film was an inflection point in Amitabh Bachchan's career. He had reached a low point in his career prior to this film - many of his films had failed and his production company ABCL had gone bankrupt. It was then that Bachchan had approached Yash Chopra and asked him for work. The success of this film and the TV series Kaun Banega Crorepati, which he anchored, along with his work in various commercials helped him tide over his financial troubles and launched a new, successful phase of his career. Bachchan also made a transition from "hero" roles to more mature, character roles with this film.[3]
• This was the debut Hindi film of actors Uday Chopra, the son of Yash Chopra, Shamita Shetty, actress Shilpa Shetty's sister, Kim Sharma and Preeti Jhangiani.

Song

• Humko Humise Chura Lo - The tune of this song may have been inspired by the harmonica prelude of the song "Aana Jana Laga Rahega" ("Geraftaar", 1985).[4]
• Chalte Chalte Yun Hi Ruk Jata Hoon Main - It was actor Jugal Hansraj, one of the actors on whom this song was filmed, who composed the tune of the song's antara. He had also written his own lyrics for the antara but the recorded version of the song used Anand Bakshi's lyrics.
• Aankhen Khuli Hon Ya Hon Band - Actor Jugal Hansraj fractured his ankle halfway through the shooting of this song. Since he had to put a cast on and could not dance, the rest of the song was completed using close and mid shots of him.[5]
