The Censor Board refused to certify this film for almost six months. They finally relented and certified it with a few minor cuts after director K.A. Abbas launched a public campaign to gather support for the film.[1]
This was K.A. Abbas's second film after "Saat Hindustani" (1969) that featured siblings Jalal Agha and Shahnaz. Shahnaz's husband Tinnu Anand, who had turned down "Saat Hindustani" (1969), was also part of this film.[2]
