Trivia

    Album

  • This was director C.V. Sridhar's remake of his own hit Tamil film "Kalyana Parisu" (1959). He had previously remade the Tamil film in Telugu as "Pelli Kanuka" (1960). While "Kalyana Parisu" (1959) was Sridhar's directorial debut, the remake was his first Hindi film as a director. Gemini Ganesan, who starred in the Tamil original, made a guest appearance in this film. B. Saroja Devi, who had played the role of Vasanthi in the Tamil and Telugu versions, had initially been cast in the role of her sister Geeta in the Hindi remake. However, she had a fallout with Sridhar early on during the film's making and was replaced by Usha Kiron.[1]
  • The film's premise of two sisters falling in love with the same man may have inspired the Telugu film "Devatha" (1982) which was remade in Hindi as "Tohfa" (1984) and in Tamil as "Deiva Piravi" (1985).[2]

    Song

  • Mere Peechhe Ek Deewana - The film's music records wrongly credited Lata Mangeshkar for the female voice in this song which was actually Asha Bhosle's.
