Trivia

    Album

  • This film was a remake of the hit Telugu film "Devatha" (1982). Sridevi and Jaya Prada reprised their roles in the Telugu film in this movie. The Telugu film was also remade in Tamil as "Deiva Piravi" (1985). The premise of "Devatha" (1982) - of two sisters falling in love with the same man - may have been adapted from the Tamil film "Kalyana Parisu" (1959), which was remade in Telugu as "Pelli Kanuka" (1960) and in Hindi as "Nazrana" (1961).[1]
  • The refrain "Aaoo Lolita!" used by Shakti Kapoor's character in this film became very popular. When Shakti Kapoor launched his restaurant in Dehradun in 2017, he named it "Aaoo Lolita".

    Song

  • Tohfa Tohfa Laya Laya (Pyar Ka Tohfa Tera) - The sarees used for the sets of this song were provided by Bombay Dyeing. Bombay Dyeing was credited for this before the film's opening credits.
  • Ek Aankh Maaroon To - Tanishk Bagchi recorded a recreated version of this song for the film "Baaghi 3" (2020).[2]
