Trivia

    Album

  • Work on this film had started in 1993 but it was delayed when its lead actor, Sanjay Dutt, as well as its producers, Samir Hingora and Hanif Kadawala, were arrested for their role in the 1993 Bombay blasts. The film was completed after Sanjay Dutt's release in 1997. It was Samir Hingora and Hanif Kadawala who had supplied Sanjay Dutt guns and ammunition and asked him to store it for them. Hanif was killed in 2001 and Chhota Rajan was named the main accused in his murder. Samir was convicted and sentenced to 9 years in jail in 2007.[1][2][3]

    Song

  • Khuda Kare Ke Mohabbat Mein - The lyrics of this song are similar to Taslim Fazli's lyrics for a song for the Pakistani film "Afshan" (1971). There were two versions of this song in the Pakistani film, one sung by Noor Jehan and the other by Mehdi Hassan.[4]
  • Maine Kal Ek Sapna Dekha - Different versions of this song were used in the film's audio release and the film itself. In the audio release, the song was sung by Amit Kumar and in the film, it was sung by Vinod Rathod. There were also some differences in the lyrics - the two versions had minor differences in the names of actresses referenced in the song. For example, "Dimple" in Amit Kumar's version was replaced by "Twinkle" in Vinod Rathod's. It appears that the song was re-recorded to reference newer film heroines when the film's release was delayed.
  • Raqs Mein Hai Saara Jahan - The song was adapted from a song of the same title from the Pakistani film "Ayaz" (1960) or from its recreated version by the Pakistani pop artist Saleem Javed. The original song was composed by Khursheed Anwar, written by Tanvir Naqvi, and sung by Naheed Niazi.[5]
