Trivia

    Album

  • Actor Vikram turned producer with this film. He also had an acting role in it.
  • This was the last film by the husband-wife film-making duo of Vikas Desai and Arunaraje Patil, credited in their films as Aruna Vikas. Arunaraje's life took a tragic turn after this film. Her daughter, Gaagi, was diagnosed with bone cancer and died in 1983 at the age of nine. The very next day after her death, Desai told Patil that he wanted a divorce. He had apparently been having an affair with Patil's best friend and wanted to get married to her. Patil went into depression and even attempted suicide. She eventually agreed for divorce and decided to move on. She formed a production company, Gaahimedia, which she named after her daughter Gaagi and son Hith, who, incidentally, acted in this film. She was in the middle of her divorce proceedings when she wrote, produced and directed her first film "Rihaee" (1988). A few years later, she finally got closure when she called Desai and told him that she no longer blamed him for what had happened.[1][2]
