Trivia

    Album

  • This film was a remake of S.S. Rajamouli's hit Telugu film "Maryada Ramanna" (2010). The Telugu film was also remade in Kannada as "Maryade Ramanna" (2011), in Bengali as "Faande Poriya Boga Kaande Re" (2011), in Tamil as "Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham" (2014) and in Malayalam as "Ivan Maryadaraman" (2015). "Maryada Ramanna" (2010) itself was adapted from Buster Keaton's silent comedy "Our Hospitality" (1923).
  • A controversy erupted before this film's release when Ajay Devgan Films (ADF) sent a legal notice to Yash Raj Films (YRF). ADF accused YRF of using their dominant position in the film industry to get more single-screen theatres to show "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" (2012) and depriving their film of screens in the process. When asked by the Delhi High Court to look into the matter, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) rejected ADF's complaint and said that there was no merit in it. The entire controversy was marked by angry statements made by both parties against each other. Although ADF's complaint was rejected, Ajay Devgan claimed that pressure built up by the case resulted in this film getting an additional 400-500 screens. When asked why his wife Kajol, who had a long history with YRF, did not attend the premiere of "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" (2012), Devgan said that she had not been invited and blamed it on the "pettiness of someone else".[1][2][3]
  • When some Sikh organisations objected to the content in the film's promos, the film's hero and producer Ajay Devgan flew into Amritsar to show them the promos, narrate the film to them and assure them that the film would not hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community. Devgan assured them that the objectionable parts in the promos would be removed. This included the tattoo of Lord Shiva on the chest of the Sikh character played by Ajay Devgan.[4]
  • This was actress Tanuja's last Hindi film. She was 69 years old at the time. Her son-in-law Ajay Devgan was one of the film's producers and played the lead role in it.

    Song

  • Po Po - Salman Khan made a cameo appearance in the film for this song.
