Akhtar Romani, a lyricist and dialogue writer in the Indian film industry, was active in the industry through the 1960s and 1970s.
“Jitni Dil Ki Baat Chhupayi” (“Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere”, 1960), “Sochta Hoon Ke Tumhein Maine” (“Raaz”, 1967) and “Main Qayamat Hoon” (“Suhaag Raat”, 1968) are some of the songs penned by him. Other films he has been a lyricist for include “Hatimtai” (1956), “Pyar Ki Bazi” (1967), “Anjam” (1968), “Haseena Maan Jayegi” (1969) and “Gehra Raaz” (1971).
His songs have been sung by the likes of Mohammed Rafi, Mukesh, Suman Kalyanpur, Krishna Kalle, Manna Dey, Usha Mangeshkar and Lata Mangeshkar.
