Amrita Kak is an Indian playback singer.
She is the daughter of politician and actress, Bina Kak. She is married to Riju Jhunjhunwala, the Joint Managing Director or Rajasthan Spinning & Weaving Mills.
Amrita Kak became a playback singer by chance. She was still in college when she was approached to audition for the song “Just Chill” in the film “Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya” in 2005. The audition was a success and the song became an instant hit.
It was only after this that Amrita seriously started considering singing as a profession. She was also encouraged by music directors Sajid-Wajid. She trained under Sarfaraz Khan who taught her voice modulation and classical singing.
She next sang the song “Love Me Love Me” in the 2009 Salman Khan starrer film “Wanted” which again, turned out to be a huge hit.
Her songs in the 2011 film “Ready”, “Dhinka Chika” and “Character Dheela Hai” are already climbing the charts.
