Antara Chowdhury is a Bengali singer who is best known for her nursery rhymes which are very popular among children. She is the daughter of famous music composer Salil Chowdhary and Sabita Chowdhury.
Her journey as a musician began at the age of seven and she has sung in languages including Bengali, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam.
Hindi songs rendered in her voice include R.D. Burman’s “Jabse Tumko Dekha” (“Kaalia”, 1981), Ranjit Barot’s “Aaja Aaja” (“Oh Darling Yeh Hai India”, 1995) and Shantanu Moitra’s “Yeh Nigahein” (“Khoya Khoya Chand”, 2007).
In the Hindi film industry, she has sung in movies like “71/2 Phere: More Than a Wedding” (2005) and “Suno Na: Ek Nanhi Aawaz” (2009). Other songs sung by her are mostly composed by her legendary father Salil Chowdhury.
