Raman Mahadevan is a playback singer in Bollywood. He has also dabbled in jingles for advertising, title tracks for serials and private indipop albums.
Born and raised in Mumbai, he worked in the IT industry before becoming a playback singer. He has been trained in carnatic classical music by Prasanna Warrier and Girija Sheshu. He was taught to play the tabla by Palash Bordoloi.
Some of his popular songs are from movies like “Hey Baby” (2007), “Johnny Gaddaar” (2007), “Taare Zameen Par” (2007), “Rock On!!” (2008), “Aisha” (2010) and “No One Killed Jessica” (2011). Most of his work in Bollywood has been with Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Amit Trivedi. Hit songs by him include “Kholo Kholo” (“Taare Zameen Par”, 2007) and "Sinbad The Sailor" (“Rock On!!”, 2008).
He has cut 5 private albums between 2006 and 2009 namely, “Pralay, 14”, “Ramanasia”, “UWF Vol.1”, “Utkrosh” and “Someone Somewhere”. Jingles he has lent his voice to include Lays, Pepsi, Mumbai Indians, Haywards and Mirinda.
