- Producer S. Mukerji initially approached C. Ramchandra to compose music for this film but he declined when Mukerji insisted on Geeta Dutt singing all the songs for the film's heroine. The filmmaker then approached Basant Prakash who recorded this song for the film before excusing himself due to health issues. This ended up being Basant Prakash and Geeta Dutt's only song in the film. S. Mukerji then went back to C. Ramchandra, who signed up for the film on the condition that he could use Lata Mangeshkar's voice instead of Geeta Dutt's. His songs for the film ended up being considered some of his best work ever.[1][MR3]
