- The line "Ek Shahenshah ne daulat ka sahara le kar / Hum gareebon ki mohabbat ka udaya hai mazaak" in this song was originally written by Sahir Ludhianvi in his poem "Taj Mahal", which was first published in the early 1940s. He had used this line earlier when he was engaged as the lyricist for the film "Leader" (1964). Since music director Naushad didn't have a good relationship with Sahir, he construed this line to be a dig at him and had him replaced with his favourite lyricist, Shakeel Badayuni.[1][MR4][MR5]
