Trivia

  • The opening of this song was used in a 2011 Heineken advertisement titled "The Date". The song was also used in the opening credits of the Hollywood comedy "Ghost World" (2001). The Hindi film "Luka Chuppi" (2019) featured a remixed version of this song in its background score.[1][2]
  • Herman Benjamin, the song's choreographer, made a cameo appearance in the film as the club singer singing it. It was one of Laxmi Chhaya's most memorable dance performances in Hindi films. They were joined on the screen by the members of a band called Ted Lyons & His Cubs, who appeared in several Hindi film songs in the 1960s. The band was founded by the drummer Terence "Ted" Lyons, the son of an Irish man and Arab woman who had settled down in Bombay. In the group of three guitarists seen in this song, Lyons was the one in the centre. His sister Edwina also appeared in many Hindi films as a dancer. "Dekho Ab To Kisko Nahin Hai Khabar" ("Janwar", 1965) was another popular song in which the members of Ted Lyons & His Cubs performed.[3][4]
