This was a cover version of a song originally recorded for the film "Sadma" (1983). The original song was composed by Ilaiyaraaja, written by Gulzar, and sung by Suresh Wadkar. The song was also covered by Amit Trivedi for the film "Dear Zindagi" (2016).[1][2]
