The mukhda of this song bore similarities with Bappi Lahiri's "Ui Amma Ui Amma" ("Mawaali", 1983). Saregama, the label that issued "Mawaali" (1983), sued the producers of this film, Balaji Telefilms, for copyright infringement and sought Rs. 100 crores in damages. Bappi Lahiri, who sang this song with Shreya Ghoshal, defended Vishal - Shekhar and Balaji Films and issued a statement that the two songs were independent and distinct. Bappi Lahiri himself may have adapted the mukhda of "Ui Amma Ui Amma" ("Mawaali", 1983) for the song "Kasam Se Kasam Se" ("Do Aankhen Barah Hath", 1997).[1][2][3]
