Trivia

    Album

  • This was Tigmanshu Dhulia's debut film as director.
  • This was actor Irrfan Khan's breakthrough film and won him widespread attention and acclaim. Irrfan had hoped to win the National Film Award for Best Actor for the film. Unfortunately, the producer did not nominate the film for the awards following a tiff with its director, Tigmanshu Dhulia. Years later, Irrfan won his only National Film Award for Best Actor for another film directed by Dhulia - "Paan Singh Tomar" (2012).[1][2]

    Song

  • Aankhon Mein Tumhari - Portions of this song, including the bassline in the mukhda, were based on the British band The Alan Parsons Project's "Pshychobabble".[3]
  • Tu Hi Tu - The composition of this song was based on the famous qawwali "Allah Hu" as originally performed by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.[4]
