Trivia

    Album

  • The music for the song "Matwali Ankhonwale" ("Chhote Nawab", 1961) was conceived on the sets of this film. Mehmood, who had an acting role in the film, was fascinated by the Flamenco dance he had witnessed during a recent trip abroad and demonstrated it to the unit. R.D. Burman, who was assisting his father S.D. Burman, and a few others clapped to the dance's rhythm and came up with a tune that was later incorporated into "Matwali Ankhonwale". "Chhote Nawab" (1961) was the first film produced under Mehmood's Mumtaz Films banner. It was also R.D. Burman's debut film as a music director.[1]

    Song

  • Paani Hota Doob Bhi Jaate - This was singer Kamla Sista's first commercial Hindi film song. She had sung songs earlier in Children's Film Society films. S.D. Burman discovered her while presiding as a chief guest at a function at St. Xavier's College, Bombay.[MR21]
