Ravinder Rawal was a prominent lyricist in the Hindi film industry in the 1980s and 1990s. All the chartbuster songs in the blockbuster “Hum Aapke Hain Kaun” (1994) like “Dhiktana Dhiktana Dhiktana”, “Joote De Do Paise Lelo” and “Wah Wah Ramji” have been written by him.
Though he has created many hit songs along with Ram-Laxman, the other music directors he has worked with include Mani Sharma, Somdev Kashyap, Agosh, Babul Bose, Kalyanji-Anandji and Usha Khanna. His beautiful words have been translated to music by the likes of Lata Mangeshkar, Anuradha Paudwal, Usha Mangeshkar, Kumar Sanu, S. P. Balasubramaniam, Asha Bhonsle, Mohammed Rafi, Jagjit Singh, Shankar Mahadevan, Shailendra Singh, Kavitha Krishnamurthy and Mohammed Aziz..
“Aisa Maara Thumka” (“Deewana Tere Naam Ka”, 1987), “O Raama Ho” (“Jab Jab Pyar Hua”, 1992) and “Koi Dekh Raha” (“Zor”, 1998) are some of the songs created by him. A few of his other movies include “Agent Vinod” (1977), “Taraana” (1979), “Beshaque” (1980), “Jeena Teri Gali Mein” (1991) and “Hum Saath Saath Hain” (1999).
