- The tune for this song was originally composed by R.D. Burman for the film "Raaz" which was not released.[MR9]
- S.D. Burman and Lata Mangeshkar had stopped working together after a misunderstanding developed between them in the late 1950s. According to R.D. Burman, this song was instrumental in their reconciliation. Lata met the senior Burman at his home when she visited R.D. Burman to rehearse for this song. The two talked and agreed to work together again. "Mora Gora Ang Laile" ("Bandini", 1963) was the first song Lata sang for S.D. Burman after their patch-up.[1][MR21]
