- S.D. Burman had used the tune of this song previously for his Bengali non-film song "Ghum Bhulechhi Nijhum Ey Nishithe". According to film journalist Raju Bharatan, Burman had developed the tune from a prayer song he had heard his assistant Jaidev hum - "Aal-E-Rusool Mein Jo Mussalman Ho Gaye". Interestingly, S.D. Burman's son R.D. Burman had played the sarod in the prelude of "Ghum Bhulechhi Nijhum Ey Nishithe".[1][MR4]
