Album

• Raj Kapoor first came across Shankar - Jaikishan when they were assisting Ram Ganguly on this film's music. He was so impressed by the youngsters that he gave the duo a break in his next film, "Barsaat" (1949).[1]
• During the making of this film, Raj Kapoor witnessed Shailendra reciting his poem "Jalta Hai Punjab" in a kavi sammelan. He felt the poem would fit the theme of partition on which this film was based and made Shailendra an offer but was turned down because Shailendra did not want to sell his poetry. The two reconciled later and after debuting in another Raj Kapoor film, "Barsaat" (1949), Shailendra went on to become a critical member of his team.[2]
• This 1948 film was the first film produced under the R.K. Films banner. Raj Kapoor debuted as a producer, director in this film. As of 2019, the last film produced by the banner was "Aa Ab Laut Chalen" (1999).[3]

• Zinda Hoon Is Tarah - The flute and shehnai in this song, sung by Mukesh and composed by Ram Ganguly, was played by Ramlal Choudhary. Ramlal is best remembered for his music for the films "Sehra" (1963) and "Geet Gaaya Patharon Ne" (1964).[4][5][6]
