This was the debut film of the film's lead actors - Jeetendra and filmmaker V. Shantaram's daughter, Rajashree. Prior to this film, Jeetendra had made uncredited cameo appearances in other Shantaram films like "Navrang" (1959) and "Sehra" (1963).[1][2]
The film's opening credits were unusual and thematic in the tradition of previous V. Shantaram films. The credits of this film were written with coloured chalk on a big rock.
Song
Mandve Tale Garib Ke Do Phool Khil Rahe Hain - Singer C.H. Atma not only recorded two songs for the film but also acted in it. This song sung by him was also filmed on him.
Geet Gaaya Pattharon Ne (Solo) - This was the first Hindi film song sung by the Hindustani classical vocalist Kishori Amonkar. Her mother and her guru Moghubai Kurdikar were very unhappy when she broke tradition to sing a film song. She would work in only one other Hindi film after this - when she composed the music and sang songs for "Drishti" (1991).[3][4]
