Trivia

    Album

  • This film was director K. Balachander's remake of his own Tamil film "Arangetram" (1973). The Tamil film was also remade in Telugu as "Jeevitha Rangam" (1974).
  • This film was Kamal Haasan's first Hindi film - several years before he was launched as a hero, by K. Balachander again, in "Ek Duje Ke Liye" (1984). He had a small, uncredited cameo in the film as an assistant director at the sets of a film shooting. Kamal Haasan had also worked in the "Arangetram" (1973), the Tamil film of which this film was a remake - it was his first film as an adult.
  • It appears that the release of this film was delayed by a few years. Its audio records were issued in 1974, but the film was released only in 1977. As a result, this film became actress Mumtaz's last released Hindi film before a prolonged break. Many years later, she attempted a comeback with the film "Aandhiyan" (1990), which remains her last Hindi film.[1]
  • This was actress Rita Bhaduri's debut Hindi film. Her first film in a lead role was "Dimple" (1977).[2]

    Song

  • Jaane Kya Ho Jaye - Parts of this song were shot on Dharmendra and Neetu Singh, who played themselves shooting for a film. They were not credited for this cameo appearance.
