    Album

  • This film was based on the satirical play, "The Government Inspector", by the Russian writer Nikolai Gogol. 27 years after its release, director Chetan Anand remade this film as "Sahib Bahadur" (1976) with Dev Anand in the lead role again.[1]
  • Dev Anand and Chetan Anand launched the Navketan Films banner with this film. It was Dev Anands' first film as a producer.

  • Naina Diwane Ik Nahin Maane - The tune of this song was adapted from the Rabindranath Tagore composition "Shey Din Dujone Dulechhinu Boney".[2]
