- This film was a remake of K. Bhagyaraj's Tamil film "Sundara Kandam" (1992).
- The suggestive lyrics of some of the songs in this film came back to haunt producer Pahlaj Nihalani in 2016-2017 when his stint as the Censor Board chief came under criticism for being unduly harsh in censoring films.[1]
