Trivia

    Album

  • This film was a remake of the Malayalam film "Poovinu Puthiya Poonthennal" (1986) starring Mammooty, and written and directed by Fazil. The Malayalam film was also remade in Tamil as "Poovizhi Vasalile" (1987), in Telugu as "Pasivadi Pranam" (1987), and in Kannada as "Aapadbandhava" (1987). Two actors who featured in the Malayalam film - Babu Antony, the villain, and Baby Sujitha, the child artist - also featured in all its remakes. Years later, the premise of these films inspired the story of the film "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" (2015).[1]
  • The title track of this film was originally composed by Ilaiyaraaja for the background score of the Tamil film "Poovizhi Vasalile" (1987).
  • This was the directorial debut of Govinda's brother Kirti Kumar. It was also the first film produced by their banner Sri Nirmala Devi Productions, named after their mother, actress Nirmala Devi.

    Song

  • Main Pyar Ki Pujaran Mujhe Pyar Chahiye - This song may have been adapted from the song "Pyar De Pujari" ("Nach Mundeya", 1987) by the British bhangra-pop band Alaap.[2]
