Trivia

    Album

  • This was a remake of the Tamil film "Mangala Sabatham" (1943). The Tamil film was also remade in Telugu as "Mangala" (1951). The two remakes had Ranjan reprising his role from "Mangala Sabatham" (1943). Bhanumathi replaced Vasundhara Devi in the remakes. While the Hindi version was directed by S.S. Vasan, the Telugu remake was directed by Chandru.

    Song

  • Suno Suno Pyare More Saajna (Piya Se Milan Ki Aas Re) - This song was based on the tune of the Tamil film song "Ayyaiyaiya Solla Vekkamaaguthae" ("Mangamma Sabatham", 1943) composed by S Rajeswara Rao and M.D. Parthasarathy. The same tune was also used in the Telugu remake for the song "Ayyaiyaiya Cheppu Siggu Aayene" ("Mangala", 1951). The Tamil song itself used the tune of the song "I, Yi, Yi, Yi, Yi (I Like You Very Much)" originally composed by Harry Warren, written by Mack Gordon and performed by Carmen Miranda for the Hollywood film "That Night In Rio" (1941). This tune was also used in the Tamil film song "Ayyae Ayyae Paarka Kann Koosuthae" ("Vedhala Ulagam", 1948).[1][2][3][4]
  • Mamamma Mami Meharbaan Main Hoon Tumhari - This song was based on the tune of the Tamil film song "Mammama Maamathe" ("Mangamma Sabatham", 1943) composed by S Rajeswara Rao and M.D. Parthasarathy. The same tune was also used in the Telugu remake for the song "Mammama Maamari" ("Mangala", 1951). The Tamil song itself used the tune of the Portuguese language song "Mama Eu Quero" originally written and recorded by Brazilian artists Vicente Paiva and Jararaca in 1937 and popularised by Carmen Miranda in 1940. This tune was also used for the Telugu film song "Mamayyochede Mama" ("Mangalasutram", 1946) and the theme music in the opening credits of "Farar (Dev Anand In Goa)" (1951) and inspired the mukhda of the song "Mamaiya Kero Kero Kero Mama" ("Arjun", 1985).[5][6][7][8][9][10]
