Trivia

    Album

  • This was a remake of the Telugu film "Donga Ramudu" (1955). The Tamil film "Vasanthi" (1988) was also a remake of the same film.
  • This was South Indian actress and later-day Tamil Nadu politician Jayalalitha's first Hindi film. She had a cameo role in it. She appeared in one more Hindi film after this, playing a lead role opposite Dharmendra in "Izzat" (1968).[1]
  • It appears that this film was A.V.M. Productions' attempt to recreate the success of "Bhai Bhai" (1956). Both the films starred Kishore Kumar, featured Madan Mohan's music, and had Rajendra Krishan's dialogues and lyrics. This film also featured a song whose title was inspired by the popular song "Mera Naam Abdul Rehman" ("Bhai Bhai", 1956).[2]

    Song

  • Bura Lagta Hai Lage Duniya Ko - This song was removed from the film and also from its music records after the initial release. It was even banned from radio as the Censor Board considered the song anti-social![3]
  • Main Toh Tum Sang Nain Mila Ke Haar Gayi Sajna - Flautist Hariprasad Chaurasia stated in an interview that this was the first Hindi film song in which he performed the flute.
