Trivia

    Album

  • The film was dedicated to the memory of Nazir Jeelani, an assistant director who passed away during the film's making.

    Song

  • Taa Taa Tiyo Kaise Dekha Hai Mujhe Jiyo - The song had a few lines sung by Asha Bhosle. However, the film's music records wrongly credited Usha Mangeshkar for them.
  • Taa Taa Tiyo Kaise Dekha Hai Mujhe Jiyo - The song featured two interesting vocalisations. The song opened with a rhythmic breathing vocalisation that may have been the precursor to the one R.D. Burman used famously in "Duniya Mein Logon Ko" ("Apna Desh", 1972). The interlude after the first antara featured a vocalisation inspired by Harry Belafonte's in the song "Day-O (Banana Boat Song)". Both these vocalisations were performed by a male singer. Only Manna Dey was credited for the song but the vocalisation may have been performed by another singer, possibly R.D. Burman himself.[1][2]
  • Allah Jaane Main Hoon Kaun - In the third stanza of this song filmed on Mehmood, the protagonist compares himself to the actor Mehmood and poses alongside posters of his films "Chhote Nawab" (1961) and "Main Aur Mera Bhai" (1961). The lines went "Main yaar jin dinon mein Bombay mein tha maujood / Aate jaate log samajhte the mujhko Mehmood".[3][4]
