Trivia

    Album

  • Director Shekhar Kapur had left the film "Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja" (1993) midway following an altercation with producer Boney Kapoor over the delay in its production. He was ousted from this film as well. Satish Kaushik, Shekhar Kapur's long-time assistant, had then taken over both the films.[1][2]
  • This was the debut film of actor Sanjay Kapoor, the brother of producer Boney Kapoor and actor Anil Kapoor.
  • This was supposed to be actress Tabu's debut film. However, it was in the making for several years and she ended up debuting in the film "Pehla Pehla Pyar" (1993). Her hit film "Vijaypath" (1994) also came out before this film.[3][4]
  • Singer Nalin Dave was signed for this film in 1989 when work had started on it. After the six-year delay in the film's making, there were some in the film's crew who thought that the singer's voice did not suit actor Sanjay Kapoor anymore and wanted him replaced by Udit Narayan. The Kapoor family patriarch, Surinder Kapoor, however, put his foot down and insisted on retaining Nalin Dave as Sanjay Kapoor's singing voice in the film.[5]
  • According to Sanjay Kapoor, he and Tabu were dating when work on the film had started and that they were no longer on speaking terms when it completed 6 years later.[6]

    Song

  • Ek Baat Hui Kal Raat Hui - Laxmikant - Pyarelal adapted the tune of the mukhda of this song for another song of theirs, "Bechain Hoon Main" ("Rajkumar", 1996). They also used the same tune for the Tamil film song "Oru Vennila" ("Ragasiya Police", 1995).[7]
