Trivia

    Album

  • This film was remade in Tamil as "Mangudi Minor" (1978).
  • The opening credits in this film were preceded by a disclaimer that read "The producers regret any embarrassment that any sequence in this film may cause to Air India". The sequence referred to in the disclaimer was one involving the hijacking of an Air India flight.
  • This was one of the two films directed by Manmohan Desai that had R.D. Burman's music. The other film was "Aa Gale Lag Jaa" (1973). Desai had plans of using Burman's music for one other film - "Ram Lakhan" (1989) - but replaced him with Laxmikant - Pyarelal eventually.[1][2]

    Song

  • Kaahe Apnon Ke Kaam Nahin Aaye (Duet) - R.D. Burman's tune for the mukhda of this song was adapted from an interlude his father S.D. Burman had used, with the younger Burman as an assistant, in the song "Aaj Ki Junli Raat Ma" ("Talash", 1969). The senior Burman's interlude itself used the tune of the musical piece "Romance" composed by Sergei Prokofiev. Prokofiev had originally composed this piece for the Russian film "Lieutenant Kije" (1933) and later included it in an orchestral suite of the same title. The British artist Sting also used this piece in an interlude of his song "Russians" (1985).[3][4][5]
