Trivia

    Album

  • The film's premise may have been inspired by the Tamil film "Netrikkan" (1981) starring Rajinikanth.
  • This was producer Pahlaj Nihalani's first film in more than a decade and director Sikander Bharti's first film in more than twenty years. The film saw Nihalani reuniting with Govinda after "Aankhen" (1993).[1]
  • The film was in the news for producer Pahlaj Nihalani's run-ins with the CBFC. Nihalani, who was removed as CBFC's chief in 2017, accused the board of holding up his film while giving preference to the big banner film "Thugs of Hindostan" (2018). When the CBFC did certify the film, it was with 20 cuts. Nihalani approached the Bombay High Court with a petition challenging the order but did not get a favourable hearing. The film was eventually passed with just three cuts after the director approached the Film Certificate Appellate Tribunal (FCAT).[2][3][4][5]
  • Pahlaj Nihalani accommodated Mahesh Anand in the film's climax in the advanced stages of shooting after the actor pled for a role in it. His last film before this was "Ssukh" (2005). Anand was found dead in his apartment a few weeks after the film's release.[6][7][8]
