Trivia

    Album

  • This was the debut Hindi film of actors Sonam, Arjun Sablok and Neil Nitin Mukesh. Neil Nitin Mukesh was six years old at the time of the film's release.
  • Anupam Kher's role in this film was originally meant to be played by Dilip Kumar. Kher was 33 years old at the time but played the father of 40-year-old Hema Malini, the grandfather of 32-year-old Anil Kapoor and the father-in-law of 46-year-old Rajesh Khanna.[1]
  • Yash Chopra started making another film, "Chandni" (1989), while this film was still being made. According to him, this was a "compromise" film and "Chandni" (1989) was a film he truly believed in and was eager to make.[2][3]

    Song

  • Zindagi Har Janam - Shiv - Hari developed a background theme in the film "Silsila" (1981) into this song.[4]
  • Rakhna Athanni Sambhaal Ke - This tune of the mukhda of this song has origins in folk music. Folk songs like "Chhaap tilak sab chheeni" and "Inhin logon le leena" appear to be precursors to this tune.
