Shabbir Ahmed is a lyricist in the Hindi film industry. He became a household name with the song “Teri Meri” composed by Himesh Reshammiya in the blockbuster “Bodyguard” (2011). It was Salman Khan who discovered his talent for song writing and offered him “Garv” back in 2004.
Some of the music directors he has worked with include Ganesh Hegde, Nitin Shankar, Pritam Chakraborty, Ravi Meet, Sanjay Dhakan, Sajid-Wajid, Sandesh Shandilya and Shamir Tandon. Songs written by him have been sung by the likes of Usha Mangeshkar, Shaan, Zubeen Garg, Alisha Chinoy, Sumedha Karmahe, Asha Bhosle, Kunal Ganjawala, Junaid Sheikh, Sunidhi Chauhan, Mauli Dave, Sonu Nigam, Sukhwinder Singh, Shreya Ghoshal, Sneha Pant and Shankar Mahadevan.
Some of his songs are “Chalao Na Naino Se” (“Bol Bachchan”, 2012), “Ishq Mein Ruswaa” (“Dangerous Ishhq”, 2012), title track of “Welcome” (2007), “Dil Mein Baji Guitar” (“Apna Sapna Money Money”, 2006), “Kaal Dhamaal” (“Kaal”, 2005) and “Jhoom” (“Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena”, 2005).
