Suraj Jagan is a rock vocalist and playback singer. Bitten by the music bug at a young age, he droppped out of college to pursue a career in music.
After being part of several bands like Aurora, Krysys, Chakraview and Spyrals and a Hindi album called Musafir, he landed the oppurtunity to sing the Hutch TV commercial “You and I, In This Beautiful World”, which went on to become very popular.
Thanks to his association with music director Vishal Dadlani, his first Bollywood opportunity came with the song “Hum Naujawan Hain” (“Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi”, 1999). He had to wait for several long years for the title song of “Johnny Gaddaar” (2007) to get noticed for a Bollywood number. However, it was only with the spectacular success of the song “Give Me Some Sunshine” (“3 Idiots”, 2009), that Suraj Jugan joined the mainstream of Hindi film music. Rather ironically, the song won him the Max Stardust Award for “Best Emerging Male Performer” - a decade after his Bollywood debut.
