Trivia

    Album

  • Director Sriram Raghavan dedicated this film to "thriller maestros" Vijay Anand and James Hadley Chase. There were a few references to Vijay Anand's films in it Most prominent amongst them was a scene in which "Johny Mera Naam" (1970) was shown playing on the TV. In fact, the film's title was derived from this Vijay Anand film.[1][2][MR12]
  • In a scene featuring Dharmendra, this film featured a song from an old Dharmendra film - "Mora Gora Ang Laile" ("Bandini", 1963). In this film, the song was sung by the film's editor, Pooja Ladha Surti.[3][4]
  • This was actor Neil Nitin Mukesh's first film in a lead role. He had earlier appeared as a child artist in the films "Vijay (1988) and "Jaisi Karni Waisi Bharni" (1989).[5][6]
  • This film was remade in Malayalam as "Unnam" (2012).
  • The film "Parwana" (1971) featured prominently in two scenes in the film, one after the other. In one scene, characters played by Vinay Pathak and Ashwini Kalsekar watch a scene from "Parwana" (1971) featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Navin Nischal and talk about the importance of timing in success. In the very next scene, Neil Nitin Mukesh's character watches a scene from "Parwana" (1971) featuring Amitabh Bachchan which inspires his crime in this film.[7]
  • Sriram Raghavan was accused of plagiarising the French film "Symphonie Pour Un Massacre" (1963) which had a plot very similar to that of this film. The director denied having watched the Fench film but admitted to being inspired by the Alain Reynaud-Fourton novel "Les Mystifies" on which it was based.[8]

    Song

  • Move Your Body - This was rapper Hard Kaur's first Hindi film song.
