Trivia

    Album

  • This film was director Tarun Majumdar's remake of his own Bengali film of the same name released in 1967. The Bengali film itself was based on a Bengali novel of the same name by Bimal Kar.
  • This was actress Rajni Sharma's first film in a lead role. Although she was given an "Introducing" credit in the film, she had debuted earlier in the film "Basti Aur Bazaar" (1973).[1]
  • Anil Kapoor had auditioned for the lead role in this film for which Sachin was selected eventually.[2]

    Song

  • Bade Achhe Lagte Hain - This was Amit Kumar's first hit song.
  • Bade Achhe Lagte Hain - When R.D. Burman had asked Amit Kumar to audition for this song, the young singer had sung his father Kishore Kumar's hit title song for "Jhumroo" (1961). The audition was in the presence of Manna Dey and Kishore Kumar, and a nervous Amit Kumar had botched it up. Burman ended up selecting Amit Kumar for the song nevertheless.[3][MR9]
  • Bade Achhe Lagte Hain - The uncredited singer singing the line "O Majhi Re" in this song was R.D. Burman himself. Additionally, the word "Aur" in the song was voiced by singer Sushma Shreshtha who later took on the stage name of Poornima.
  • Jagat Musafir Khana - This song was dubbed by Bhupinder in the film although the audio release had Anand Bakshi singing it. Producer Shakti Samanta made the change when he heard of Anand Bakshi's superstition that film with him as a singer bombed at the box office.
