Trivia

    Album

  • The Pakistani actor Ali Zafar had an important role in this film. However, he was not part of the film's trailer. It was reported that he had not been included in the trailer due to the ongoing backlash against Pakistani artists in Hindi films. There were speculations that Zafar would be removed from the film altogether. However, these rumours turned out to be unfounded and he made it to the film's final cut. Zafar also sang two songs for the film - "Tu Hi Hai" and "Taareefon Se". The film retained the songs in his voice but the versions of these songs in the soundtrack album were sung by Arijit Singh. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), which had called for a ban on all films featuring Pakistani actors, later withdrew its objection against the release of this film since it had been shot before the attack.[1][2][3]
  • There were speculations that the film was plagiarised from the Canadian TV series "Being Erica" which originally aired from 2009 to 2011. It was reported that the makers of this film were being sued by the producers of "Being Erica". Gauri Shinde refuted the charges of plagiarism and Dharma Productions' CEO Apoorva Mehta clarified that they had not received any legal notice.[4][5]
  • The Parra road in Goa, where the cycling scenes of Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt were shot, became a popular tourist destination after the film's release.

    Song

  • Ae Zindagi Gale Laga Le (Take 1) - This was a cover version of a song from the film "Sadma" (1983). The original song was composed by Ilaiyaraaja, written by Gulzar, and sung by Suresh Wadkar. The song was also covered for the film "Prague" (2013).[6][7]
