Trivia

    Album

  • Mahendra Kapoor, who had debuted earlier with two songs in "Mudmast" (1953), bagged a song in this film as a prize for winning the Metro Murphy singing competition held in 1957. Each of the five judges of the competition - Anil Biswas, Naushad, C. Ramchandra, Vasant Desai, and Madan Mohan - had promised to record a Hindi film song with him as a reward for his win. While Madan Mohan gave him one song in this film, he recorded two songs in "Char Dil Char Rahen" (1959) for Anil Biswas, a song in "Sohni Mahiwal" (1958) for Naushad, four songs in "Navrang" (1959) for C. Ramchandra, and a song in "Do Behnen" (1959) for Vasant Desai. Among all these opportunities, it was his work in "Navrang" (1959) that catapulted him to fame.[1][2][3][4][5]
