Trivia

    Album

  • This film may have been an adaptation of the American comedy film "Yours, Mine and Ours" (1968). The Hindi films "Khatta Meetha" (1977) and "Golmaal 3" (2010) also had similar storylines.[1][2]
  • R.D. Burman and Yogesh's didn't work together for a period of three years after this film. After recording the songs of this film, the two were supposed to start work on "Alibaba Aur 40 Chor" (1980). One day, as Yogesh entered Burman's music room, the music director's assistant, Sapan Chakraborty, had said something insulting in Bengali about the lyricist to Burman, not knowing that Yogesh understood the language. An aggrieved Yogesh had walked out of the film there and then, and Anand Bakshi had been brought in to replace him. R.D. Burman and Yogesh's relationship had gotten strained after the incident, but the two had eventually made up and resumed working together with the film "Shaukeen" (1982).[3][4][MR9]
  • The audio records of this film were issued in 1978 but the film was released in 1979.
  • This was the directorial debut of Umesh Mehra, the son of producer F.C. Mehra. It was also actor Anil Kapoor's debut Hindi film.

    Song

  • Hum Aur Tum The Saathi - I - R.D. Burman had used the tune of this song twice earlier - for the Bengali non-film song "Amar Malatilata" ("Sera Shilpi Sera Gaan", 1974) sung by Lata Mangeshkar, and for the Hindi film song "Deewaron Ka Jungle" ("Deewaar", 1975) sung by Manna Dey. Burman decided to use this tune again in this film since "Deewaron Ka Jungle" was not used in "Deewaar" (1975).[5][6]
