Trivia

    Album

  • Hrithik Roshan began his Bollywood journey as an assistant director in his father's films. This was one of the four films he assisted Rakesh Roshan with. The other films were "Khudgarz" (1987), "King Uncle" (1993) and "Karan Arjun" (1995).[1][2][3]
  • This film was heavily inspired by the American thriller "Revenge" (1990) starring Kevin Costner.
  • According to Shah Rukh Khan, this was one of the most physically challenging films he had ever done. Part of the film was shot in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, which was extremely cold. In an interview, he had said that he had always wanted to work in a film where a frame was frozen with a message on the screen indicating that it was the scene in which Shah Rukh got hurt. This was a reference to the famous scene in "Coolie" (1983) in which Amitabh Bachchan had gotten injured. According to Shah Rukh, this was the film in which he came closest to fulfilling that ambition. He was almost hit by a helicopter in a scene in which he was being chased by it.[4][5][6]

    Song

  • Tanhai Tanhai Tanhai Donon Ko Paas Le Aayi - Portions of this song seem inspired by Vangelis' "Conquest of Paradise" released in 1992.[7]
  • Tanhai Tanhai Tanhai Donon Ko Paas Le Aayi - Rajesh Roshan developed the tune of the prelude of his Hindi film song "Frenny O Frenny" ("Khatta Meetha", 1977) to come up with the mukhda of this song.[8]
  • Badan Juda Hote Hain - The interlude of this song was adapted from the theme "Conquest Of Paradise" composed by Vangelis for the film "1492: Conquest Of Paradise" (1992). This theme was later used for the song "Hum To Dil Se Haare" ("Josh", 2000).[9][10]
  • Saanson Ki Mala - The mukhda of this song is from a Meera Bai bhajan. The tune of the song itself was adapted from a qawwali by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.[11][12]
