Trivia

    Album

  • According to Lata Mangeshkar, it was during the recording of this film's music that she had a falling out with S.D. Burman. Burman had wanted her to re-record a song and had been unhappy when he had gotten the impression that Lata did not want to do so. In another version of this story related by journalist Raju Bharatan in Filmfare, the misunderstanding between the two happened over the song "Saiyan Kaise Dhaaroon Dheer" ("Sitaron Se Aage", 1958). According to Bharatan, a miffed Burman stopped working with Lata when he had difficulty getting a commitment from her to record "Saiyan Kaise Dhaaroon Dheer". Lata was on tour and very busy in those days. They eventually resolved their differences and started working together again. "Bandini" (1963) was their first film together after patching up but it was a long time in the making and their songs in "Baat Ek Raat Ki" (1962) and "Dr. Vidya" (1962) were released before it.[1][2][3][4][MR7][MR21]
  • R.K. Nayyar got his break as the director of "Love In Simla" (1960) when I.S. Johar, whom he assisted in this film, recommended him to producer Sashadhar Mukherjee.[5][6]
