Trivia

    Album

  • This was writer Kamna Chandra's first Hindi film. She got this opportunity by calling Raj Kapoor and getting a meeting with him to narrate a story. Raj Kapoor liked the story but told her that he would be making some changes to it.[1]
  • Raj Kapoor thought about Padmini Kolhapure for this film when it was announced that Nasir Husain had selected her for "Zamaane Ko Dikhana Hai" (1981), which was supposed to be her first film in a lead role, but which got delayed and was released only after "Ahista Ahista" (1981). Raj Kapoor selected Padmini Kolhapure for this film after asking her to do a screen test. She had worked earlier for him as a child artist in the film "Satyam Shivam Sundaram" (1978).[2][3][4]
  • This was the only film in which Raj Kapoor directed his younger brother Shammi Kapoor.
  • This was the second of the three films in which Nanda played Padmini Kolhapure's on-screen mother. The other films were "Ahista Ahista" (1981) and "Mazdoor" (1983).[5][6]
  • Anwar was supposed to sing all the songs of this film. However, Raj Kapoor replaced him with Suresh Wadkar when Anwar's secretary made some unreasonable demands without the singer's knowledge.[7]
