This was the second film in the "Raaz" series of horror films. The other films in this series were - "Raaz" (2002), "Raaz 3" (2012), and "Raaz Reboot" (2016). The films' storylines were unconnected but they had a few cast and crew members in common. All the films in the series were produced by Vishesh Films, three of them were directed by Vikram Bhatt and featured actor Emraan Hashmi, and two starred Bipasha Basu.[1][2][3]
This was the only film in which Kangana Ranaut and Adhyayan Suman worked together. They were said to be dating at the time this film was shot.[4]
This was the Hindi film debut of music directors Pranay Rijia and Sharib - Toshi.

Soniyo - This song seems to be an adaptation of the very popular song "Stand By Me" (1961) by Ben E. King.[5]
