Trivia

    Album

  • This film and "Maa" (1952) were the last two productions of the Bombay Talkies banner. They acquired the rights of "Shamsheer" (1953) and released it the next year but did not produce it.[1][2]
  • The film's story was inspired by the Hollywood romantic comedy "It Started with Eve" (1941) which was remade later as "I'd Rather Be Rich" (1964). Similar storylines were used in various other Indian films - in the Hindi film "Dulhan Wahi Jo Piya Man Bhaaye" (1977), the Tamil film "Marumagal" (1986), and a subplot in the film "Yaraana" (1995).[3]
  • Khemchand Prakash, who passed away in 1952, two years before the film's release, was jointly credited with Manna Dey as its music director. It appears that while the film was launched with Prakash as the music director, Manna Dey did most of the work after the senior composer's death. The film also featured two songs composed by S.K. Pal but his name was not listed in its opening credits.

    Song

  • Khali Peeli Kaahe Ko Akkha Din - Kishore Kumar made a guest appearance in this film. He not only sang this song but also appeared on the screen for it.
