Amit Khanna is a lyricist, director, film producer and writer in Bollywood. He has penned the lines for over 400 film and non-film songs.

His career in Hindi film began in 1971 with Dev Anand’s “Nav Ketan” as the producer. He has directed two movies in the eighties namely, “Sheeshay Ka Ghar” (1984) and “Shesh” (1989).
He set up the entertainment conglomerate Plus Channel in 1990. Some of the movies he wrote lyrics for include “Chalte Chalte” (1976), “Des Pardes” (1978), “Guest House” (1980), “Star” (1982) and “Avinash” (1986). Some other popular movies he has been lyricist for are “Zindagi” (1976), “Swami” (1977), “Unnees Bees” (1980), “Naya Johnny” (1985), “Apna Jahan” (1987), “Awwal Number” (1988), “Aur Ek Prem Kahani” (1995) and “Bhairavi” (1996).
