Trivia

    Album

  • This film was adapted from the American romantic comedy "It Happened One Night" (1934) starring Clark Gable. A few other Hindi films were also inspired by the same film - "Nadan" (1951), "Chori Chori" (1956), "Nau Do Gyarah" (1957), "Solva Saal" (1958), and "Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin" (1991). Similar plots were used in other Indian films as well - "Chandhrodhayam" (1966) and "Kadhal Rojave" (2000) in Tamil, and "Hudugaata" (2007) in Kannada.[1][2][3][4][5]

    Song

  • Mere Lehange Mein Ghungroo Laga De - This was one of the few Hindi film songs whose mukhdas had nearly identical lyrics. The other films featuring these songs were "Sawan" (1959), which was likely the source of inspiration for the others, "Raaz Ki Baat" (1962), "Private Detective (C.I.D. Inspector)" (1962), and "Sunghursh" (1968).[6][7][8][9]
  • Arey Humne Unke Samne - Qamar Jalalabadi took the mukhda of this song from a ghazal written by Dagh Dehlvi. He also adapted the structure of the ghazal to write the song's remaining lyrics.
  • Ghoom Ke Aaya Hoon Main - The first antara of this song featured the name of actor Raj Kapoor. The second antara featured the names of the song's singers, Asha Bhosle and Mohammed Rafi. The third antara featured the names of a few music directors, including the song's composer O.P. Nayyar, as well as a reference to Johnny Walker on whom the song was filmed. This line in the third antara went "Burman, Shankar, Jaikishan, O.P. Nayyar, Naushad yeh sab hain shagird mere Jaani inka ustad".
