Trivia

    Album

  • This film was inspired by the real-life events of the Battle of Longewala during the war between India and Pakistan in 1971. J.P. Dutta had written down the story of this battle in 1971 based on the accounts of his brother, who was an officer in the Air Force and had fought in the Battle of Longewala. Dutta dedicated the film to his brother, who died in an air crash in 1987. The dedication read "The film is dedicated to my brother Late Sqn. Ldr. Deepak Dutta who lost his life in the service of the nation.".[1]
  • This was director J.P. Dutta's first film as a producer.
  • This was the first of J.P. Dutta's trilogy of war films. The other films in the trilogy were "LOC Kargil" (2003) and "Paltan" (2018).[2][3][4]

    Song

  • Sandese Aate Hain (Ke Ghar Ab Aaoge) - Kishore Desai played the mandolin in this song.[5]
  • Hindustan Hindustan - The tune of this song may have been adapted from the theme song of the Sylvester Stallone film "Rocky" (1977), titled "Gonna Fly Now". Composed by Bill Conti, "Gonna Fly Now" was also used in various sequels of the film.[6]
  • Hindustan Hindustan - This was the debut Hindi film song of singer, Sonali Rathod, the wife of singer Roop Kumar Rathod.
